A Wonderful World Musical

Debuting in 2020, A Wonderful World, a new musical about Louis Armstrong, tells the story of his life, music and singular legacy through the voices of his four wives. Teaming up with my husband, Michael O. Mitchell (Apollo Theater; Broadway: Motown), we are commissioned by Miami New Drama to write, arrange and orchestrate the score for this important new piece.

Alongside scriptwriter Aurin Squire (This Is Us, The Good Fight), choreographer Rickey Tripp (The Choir Boy, Jesus Christ Superstar Live), and director Christopher Renshaw (Drama Desk winner and Tony nominee). The brand new musical is scheduled to world premiere at the Colony Theater in Miami in 2021.

I am overjoyed to finally take a minute and enjoy the recognition we received when our show A Wonderful World the Musical won 8 awards from BroadwayWorld!!!

I am humbled and honored to be recognized as the “Music Director of the Decade” considering all the hard work, long nights, sweat and tears that went into creating this important piece!

Big shout out to my awesome hubby Michael O. Mitchell and huge Congrats to all the winners!!! Aurin Squire for Original Script of the Decade, Ari Fulton for “Costume Design of the Decade, as well as our incredible Cast and Company for “Production of the Musical of the DECADE” AND “Best Ensemble”!
